Switzerland – Calculation of costs, monitoring of costs – Review of the cost study 2026 (KS26) - Decommissioning and postoperational costs: Review of the cost calculation / Disposal costs: Review of the cost calculation
Tender Description
STENFO's mandate is to ensure the financing of the decommissioning and disposal costs incurred during the decommissioning and dismantling of Swiss nuclear power plants and the disposal of radio-active waste. To this end, the operators of the nuclear power plants pay into two independent funds: the Decommissioning Fund and the Waste Disposal Fund. These are legally independent and operate under the name STENFO. The costs of decommissioning and disposal are recalculated every five years - for the last time as part of the 2021 cost study - using a cost study prepared by the operators and reviewed by independent external experts. This procedure ensures that new findings and experiences from Switzerland and abroad are taken into account in the cost calculation and that the funds are filled accordingly. The procurement was publicised in advance by means of an announcement (on SIMAP).
