Ukraine – Construction supervision services – Ukraine Urban Road Safety Project / Procurement of Construction Supervision Services for Road Safety Improvement Project in Lviv – Package 1

This Assignment involves Consultancy services aimed at successful and timely implementation of the Project by providing technical supervision services for the reconstruction of two sections in the Lviv: Section 1: B. Hrinchenka Street, and Section 2: Hetmana I. Mazepy Street, acting as an Engineer in accordance with the Conditions of Contract, FIDIC Red Book 1st Edition, 1999 (Conditions of Contract for Construction, for building and engineering works designed by the Employer, issued by the Fédération Internationale Des Ingénieurs Conseil), and other services required by the Client. The specific objectives of the consultancy services are: (i). To provide Contract administration and Engineering Supervision services for works performed by the Contractor during the construction period and defect liability period upon commissioning; (ii). To provide assistance and advice to the Employer on managing the Work Contract with the Contractor under the Project; (iii). To assume and carry out the duties of the “Engineer” with respect to Contract signed by the Employer with Contractor for performance of works for reconstruction of the above sections of highway, according to FIDIC conditions of contract (hereinafter referred to as “the Contract”) with due diligence. Wherever appropriate and not in conflict with the Contract, the Consultant shall exercise every reasonable care to protect the interests of the Employer; (iv). To advise the Employer on all matters concerning claims from the Contractor and to make recommendations thereon, including possible recourse to the Dispute Adjudication Board. (v). To control over implementation of Environment and Social Management Plan (ESMP) by the Contractor and to remind the Employer of their ESMP responsibilities. (vi). To ensure that measures implemented are effective in terms of road safety and accessibility for vulnerable road users
