Ireland – Building construction work – EST_MW - Maternity Emergency and Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit - University Maternity Hospital Limerick

The development is located on the existing site of the Maternity Hospital at UMHL delivering acute hospital services and will consist of a new rapid build facility with a gross internal floor area of circa. 863m2. The proposed development includes two floors (ground, first), plus a rooftop plantroom area of circa. 150m2. The development also consists of the refurbishment of the existing Main Entrance and Medical Emergency Unit (area circa. 263m2). The development will provide for the refurbishment of the main hospital reception, the expansion and refurbishment of the existing Maternity Emergency Unit, a new extension providing a diagnostic scanning suite, a 3 bed assessment unit on the ground floor, a 4 bed labour induction unit, a 2 room Intensive Care suite and a Procedure room on the first floor along with general support and staff facilities. The development also includes a new main entrance draught lobby and entrance canopy along with an upgraded Main Entrance forecourt with associated landscape works. It is proposed to construct a new car park to the south east of the site for car parking displaced by the new development and associated landscape works.
