Switzerland – Construction work for buildings relating to education and research – BKP 230 Electrical Installations | Extension of Gymnasiums TBS5, Weinfelden

Subject of the Contract: As part of the project, the existing gymnasium will be extended by adding two additional floors for use as a secondary school. The extension will be constructed using timber element construction. The new/extended staircases will be built as double-shell structures in exposed concrete. The two-story extension will include 12 classrooms (one of which will be equipped as a learning space), 7 group rooms, and two staff rooms with a terrace. At the heart of the school, a single-story atrium (open to the outside climate) is designed. Special Conditions: The renovation will take place predominantly during ongoing operations. A complete closure of the gymnasium is only planned for the duration of the timber construction work for the extension Electrical Systems: Lighting will be implemented with LED fixtures to provide energy-efficient illumination. Automatic lighting controls and shading systems will contribute to optimized operation. Photovoltaics: The entire roof surface will be covered with photovoltaic modules to maximize solar potential. The building will be fully supplied with electricity from this yield, and it will also provide a significant power contribution to the existing school, where the surplus electricity will be fed in.
