Germany – Industrial machinery – BALIS infrastructure for the supply of liquid hydrogen

The DLR operates a development and testing environment for hydrogen and fuel cell-based powertrains for aviation. The testing environment includes • a fuel cell test field • a test field for aviation-compatible tanks for storing liquid hydrogen. Both test fields are to be supplied with hydrogen, which is stored in liquid form. A storage tank for cryogenic hydrogen is currently being built on site for this purpose. This storage tank is to be connected to the flight tank test field (TFT) on the one hand and to the fuel cell test field (TFC) on the other. The planning and implementation of the connection of the storage tank to both test fields with all the necessary pipes, fittings and safety equipment is the subject of this tender.
