The project consists of urgent repairs that are required on our school’s PE Hall roof. At present the roof is leaking in multiple areas due to corrosion of metal sheets on existing roof. This is causing sever damage to PE Hall floor in the school. The area of the roof covering the PE Hall is approximately 520m-squared. Funding for the repair was secured in 2016 but the project was not progressed. Significant time has passed and the roof has deteriorated. In 2016, when the initial application was made, 3 options were given as suitable repairs to take place. These were: 1. To overly the existing sheeting with a second durable skin of cladding i.e. insulation in between and use similar product with EN certification. 2. To fit durable skin on the roof with no insulation. 3. To use butane material as an overly over the entire sheeting. Scoil Dara invites prospective consultants to assess the current situation of the PE Hall roof and ascertain the most suitable method of repair.
