Norway – Laboratory, optical and precision equipments (excl. glasses) – Voluntary ex ante transparency notice: Blood culture incubators for Nordland Hospital.

Nordlandssykehuset HF currently has blood culture incubators from bioMerieux Norway AS and plan to procure new products for all locations (Bodø, Lofoten and Vesterålen) from the same supplier. One incubator will be retained in Bodø in order to improve capacity and work flow. Nordlandssykehuset HF is back-up for Helgelandssykehuset HF which currently has blood culture instruments from bioMerieux Norway AS. It is necessary that the blood culture bottles belong to the same system for both health authorities as it is currently. The blood culture bottles are to be sent between hospitals for further work on suspicion of positive findings. The relevant instruments are included as an integrated part of an established system with the accompanying software and consumables. Replacing the entire instrument park would result in considerable technical, economic and operative disadvantages. In order to ensure medical follow-up and patient safety, it is important that there is still only one system. Conditions for procurements without competition, cf. the Regulation 12 August 2016 no. 974 on public procurements (FOA) § 13-4 letter b are considered fulfilled. The deadline for any objections is 10 December, 12:00.
