Norway – Water transport services – Ferry transport services to Utsira (temporary solution) K25-26

The current agreement between Kolumbus and the service provider for scheduled transport by ferry between Haugesund and Utsira expires at the end of the year 2025. Kolumbus is working on the announcement of a new, long-term competition for scheduled transport by ferry between Haugesund and Utsira, which adheres to the regulations on requirements for zero emissions of greenhouse gases by public procurement of sea transport. However, the supplier market has warned that it will take 3 years from when the contract is signed to a ferry with zero emissions of climate gases can be in operation as regards the delivery time for boats and charging infrastructure. The existing competition therefore intends to procure a temporary solution for the operation of the ferry service between Haugesund and Utsira.
