Ireland – Restoration work – Lough Ree Bog SAC Restoration Works

Restoration works for approximately 94 HA in area on Lough Ree Bog SAC. The works can be summarised as follows: 1. Construction of peat dams and plastic dams within existing drains on the high bog and cutover. 2. Construction of plastic dams with timber supports within existing drains 3. Construction of trench bunds on the cutover areas 4. Installation of plastic sheet piles/pipes to form weirs in the trench bunds where necessary. 5. Erection of Warning Signs cautioning of danger due to deep water. 6. Temporary welfare facilities for the Contractors staff and workers. 7. Everything necessary for the proper storage of materials including sheds, fencing, racks etc. 8. All tanks and sheds for the storage of fuel.
