Ireland – Hospital facilities construction work – EST_MW_UHL Block B - 96 Bed Ward Expansion for the Health Service Executive (HSE)

The development (Gross Floor Area c. 10,514 sqm new build) will consist of a rooftop extension to the Shell extension (Levels -02, -01, 0 & 01) currently under construction and will comprise an enclosed plant floor at Level 02 and a 4 storey ward block above at Levels 03, 04, 05, and 06, consisting of 96 no. acute inpatient bed spaces, landscaped outdoor amenity areas (Level 03), support services, staff amenities, offices, storage and other ancillary areas, in addition to a roof plant at Level 07. The development will also include external works at various locations throughout the campus, the provision of a new shared pedestrian and cyclist link located to the north of the campus connecting to St. Nessan’s Road; green roofs; plant; changes in levels and all associated ancillary site development above and below ground. The HSE also reserves the right to instruct the delivery of some additional works to this new hospital ward block to be delivered via the works contract. This may include some additional fit out works at levels -02 & -01 and/or other works relating to the block. The works will take place at University Hospital Limerick, St. Nessan's Road, Dooradoyle, Co. Limerick. The works will take place within an operational hospital campus adjacent to live 24 hour clinical departments.
