Ireland – Ground-drainage work – Flughany Bog SAC Restoration Works

Restoration works for approximately 22ha in area on Flughany Bog Sac. The Works can be summarised as follows: • Construction of peat dams within existing drains. • Installation of plastic sheet piles to form dams in sensitive areas • Construction of trench bunding with finger bunds on cutover areas. • Installation of plastic dams to form weirs where necessary. • Installation of plastic PVC overflow pipes where necessary. • Erection of Temporary and Permanent Warning Signs cautioning of danger due to deep water. • Tree Felling where required.
