Norway – Water meters – 2025 Procurement of distant water meters

Trondheim municipality would like to continue the job of raising the quality of the invoice documentation for water fees by using distant water meters. The water meter must therefore support automatic collection of remote water meter data. The aim is to make the preparation of the invoice documentation more efficient, including reducing error sources, increased response percentages and less manual handling for both a subscriber and the municipality's executive officer. The inhabitants would like to offer a fairer and understandable invoice and have the possibility to notify the inhabitant if there are suspicions of leakage. Trondheim municipality currently has approx. 28,000 of approx. 60,000 distant water meters installed and would like to replace the remaining water meters by the end of 2028.
