Germany – Research and development services and related consultancy services – Project "MLS on ActivityPub"

"ActivityPub" is a protocol that enables communication and interaction between users in the so-called Fediverse, a network of decentralised, interconnected social media platforms. "Message Layer Security" ("MLS") is a security protocol that encrypts group or direct messages end-to-end within this communication framework. The aim of this project is to improve the data protection infrastructure and data security, as well as the user experience within the ‘Fediverse’ in a targeted, systematic and sustainable manner in the public interest through improved encrypted communication and topic and content search.
