"SDCC" is the most widely used free and open source C compiler for small 8bit devices. As such, it works as a translator of human-readable programming languages into machine instructions, which can then be executed by the hardware in billions of everyday devices. This project aims to make ‘SDCC’ more secure and reliable, in particular improving support for stronger encryption methods that meet the requirements of newer international standards, evaluating potential security issues and implementing solutions. Overall, the research and development services to be provided under this project aim to strengthen the security, reliability and usability of billions of everyday devices in the long term and sustainably,
