Norway – Engineering design services for mechanical and electrical installations for buildings – Concept, design and alteration of the High Voltage Generator (HOG)

Bane NOR and Trafikverket have procured a number of rotating 10 VAT converters from DB. These machines are originally designed with an output voltage on the generator side of 5100V. To achieve the desired voltage of 16.5 kV in the rail network, the voltage from the original converter machines must be transformed up via a 1-phase transformer. The purpose of this project is to rebuild the stator of the converter, so that 16.5 kV can be achieved directly without the additional 1-phase transformer.
