Tender Description
Cork County Council requires the services of a competent Consultant with experience coastal erosion risk management investigations. The Consultant is required for the preparation of a Coastal Erosion Risk Management Study. The overall aim of this study is to undertake detailed coastal erosion risk management investigation and to develop an appropriate plan to best manage the risks identified to human health, the environment, cultural heritage and economic activity. The study will provide baseline information on erosion patterns and the effects of coastal protection measures. This information will be used for coastal erosion protection measures where necessary. The main focus of the study is erosion along 450 metres of coastline at Pilmore. The study shall extend to a wider area of 9.5km of coastline in line with the OPW’s current monitoring programme. To clarify this coastal erosion study shall also include the following areas of particular interest: 1. Pilmore (main point of focus) 2. Youghal Front Strand / Youghal Claycastle / Redbarn 3. Ring
