Belgium – Technical analysis or consultancy services – Assessing Net Climate Impact of Digital Networks Infrastructures

The task involves examining the feasibility and developing a new methodology to assess the positive carbon impact (handprint) of digital networks infrastructures. The development of a new net carbon impact assessment methodology will be a first of the kind methodology that can estimate the positive impact of digital networks infrastructures in a given geography and context of use. Existence of such methodology will enable policy makers to deploy digital networks infrastructures that are more sustainable, and, the financial actors to support with sustainable (green, climate) finance the deployment of digital networks infrastructures that, under given conditions, will have a positive impact on climate. The task supports the top priority of the Commission, namely the green digital twin transition.
