Finland – Non-medical equipment based on the use of radiations – Purchase of mobile x-ray scanner units for Finnish Customs

The object of the procurement is to purchase mobile x-ray scanner units for Finnish Customs. In this procurement, mobile scanner unit means x-ray inspection/imaging system, which is used for scanning whole trucks (loaded/unloaded), containers and vehicles to reveal dangerous and/or illegal cargo and to carry out manifest verification to reduce the need for manual inspection. The x-ray mobile scanner is typically installed as part of a truck and the operator can drive the mobile scanner to different locations of use. In the initial phase, Customs will aim to order three (3) x-ray scanner units. Customs reserves the right to order one to two (1-2) additional units during the next five (5) years, a maximum of five (5) units in total. Based on the products, services and prices offered by the Tenderer, Customs selects the most suitable products and services and places an order for them. The procurement will include a maintenance contract for the x-ray scanners. Due to external funding, the payment arrangements for maintenance services are agreed upon with the selected supplier at the time of drafting the contract.
