The Contrating Authority wishes to purchase a Benchtop Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectrometer. Detailed optimisation of reaction conditions requires reproducible accurate data for process monitoring. The method of choice is NMR spectroscopy which in its quantitative version QNMR is a highly efficient and precise technique. Application of QNMR requires stable data readings and uninterrupted access to an NMR machine for calibration and data acquisition on the 24/7 basis and this is not efficiently supported due to a variety of factors one of them being variability of probe response for different probes and is outside of the Team’s control. Acquiring a dedicated semi-portable benchtop NMR machine will allow the team not only reliable and precise QNMR measurements in UCD Lab but will warrant our ability to carry out QNMR measurements in other locations.
