Germany – Research and development services and related consultancy services – Project support - Expert on Quality Infrastructure supporting the project "Upgrading Quality Infrastructure in Africa"

In the framework of the project “Upgrading Quality Infrastructure in Africa”, PAQI is supported by the National Metrology Institute of Germany (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, PTB) who is implementing the project on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project aims to support economic integration in Africa by upgrading the Quality Infrastructure and thereby strengthening industry productive competitiveness and reducing Technical Barriers to Trade. The project is closely aligned to Germany’s engagement to support the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA). PTB therefore supports PAQI in seconding a long-term expert on quality infrastructure. This expert will work closely with the long-term advisors on Quality Infrastructure/Technical Barriers to Trade within the African Union Commission (ETTIM Department), the secretariat of the Pan-African Quality Infrastructure (PAQI) and other officers within programmes for the enhancement of the continental Quality Infrastructure.
