The Consumer Council of Norway is an independent advocacy organisation that helps consumers and influences authorities and businesses in a consumer-friendly direction. Our vision is to give consumers the power and opportunity to make good choices. The Consumer Council is government financed, but freed politically from the general ministry (Ministry of Children and Family Affairs) with special powers, its own board and own articles of association. We shall be a visible and independent political actor who safeguards consumer rights and perspectives and strengthens you with the opportunity to exercise consumer power. In the strategy for the period 2021-2025, the transition to a sustainable society, digital development and economic vulnerability is particularly prioritised. Our policy is guidance for consumers and influences authorities, businesses and communities. The Consumer Council of Norway has approx. 85 employees divided between three departments.
